We had a terrible experience with Vacasa during a recent rental, both during and after the fact. The unit we rented was not as advertised, not even close. 1. The entry instructions were incorrect - when we arrived, there was no key to access the unit. As a result, we sat for an hour in the Utah heat while we waited for someone from Vacasa support to get back to us and eventually let us in. 2. It was extremely dirty (food scraps, dog poop, and used band-aids discovered during the stay). So bad that they had to send a cleaning team back over shortly after we got access to the unit. 3. Upon trying to access the WiFi, we discovered it did not work. After much back and forth with Vacasa to try and resolve - they eventually had US try and troubleshoot directly with their internet service provider...exactly what one wants to do on their vacation. Throughout our stay, we were in communication with the property manager for Vacasa, relaying our concerns and trying to resolve. We were promised several times, which we have in writing, that a refund would be issued. And yet here we sit, 2 months later and nothing...and absolutely zero response from their team to our followup requests.
Cheap sorry service company. They cut every corner make you jump through every hoop. Put false charges on your statement, never answer emails. My owner statement is never right I basically have to do the accounting for them. They loose my checks all the time. Staff is nasty and rude. Unprofessional when handling phone calls. Bash other owners to my face. Would never recommend. Terrible rental stats when they took over compared to previous company
The listing we reserved in Palm Springs is advertised as having a pool and a 6 person Spa. We knew the evening would be cool so we specifically looked for a house with a spa. I inquired about heating. I received an email from Vacasa stating that it would be an additional charge: $25 to heat the spa and $49 to heat both the pool and spa. I agreed to both and paid $222.22. Per the message, the heat would be turned on in advance of our arrival and we could turn up the spa heat to our desired temperature once we arrived. Upon arrival we were NOT able to adjust the spa heat. We contacted maintenance and were told the spa must be kept at 86 degrees to protect the equipment. I called again and was told instructions were provided to increase the heat. The heat could not be adjusted. I then contacted Vacasa again and was told both the pool and spa could only be heated to 86. We got the runaround every time. Either way, it is false advertising to list this home as having a spa when it either doesn’t work or was prevented from working. Everyone knows a spa is at least 100 degrees. Why on earth would anyone want to cram 6 people into a tiny “spa” when it is literally the same temperature as the pool? That’s asinine. We deserve a refund for the spa but the fact that our vacation was downgraded is the most frustrating. We would have never chosen this home if we knew the spa was nothing more than a worthless tiny pool. They’re trying to say a spa connected to a pool doesn’t heat up beyond pool temp. We literally have this setup in our own home. Our spa is connected to our pool. It heats up just like a free standing hot tub. In one very strange email response I received, a Vacasa employee quoted a pool website directly. It’s the website for Florida Pool and Patio. They tried to say we had a “patio pool” which is false. It’s actually ironic that they quoted this website because there is a whole section on that website about the difference between a spa and hot tub and it says “A spa pool is the same thing as a hot tub”. Did they not think I would see that? Anyone with common sense knows this or it can be googled. They are trying to shirk responsibility plain and simple. It’s in the itinerary that the heat could be turned up on the spa. The spa was falsely advertised. In addition, the home had no toilet paper other than what was on the roll. We had had to buy toilet paper. Per the house rules we were supposed to bag up all of our trash but there were no trash bags. These are not the things anyone should have to worry about on a vacation. Bad service. False advertising. Very disappointing.
