My holiday accomodation in Portugal was booked in late 2019 for summer 2020. Because of Covid we were unable to travel and the owner allowed us to change our dates to summer 2021. Summer 2021 is now here and sadly we are still unable to make the trip due to the cost of testing and self isolation required on return etc. Once again the owner said he'd be happy to move the booking to Summer 2022 but when trying to change our flights and find corresponding dates available with the owner, it became apparent that they were unable to accomodate us. The owner agreed to refund his part and having spoken to a very helpful Aida (Thank you!) at Clickstay this was arranged. I managed to find another suitable accomodation for next years stay with Clickstay, so haven't had to negotiate a refund without a current booking with them, but they have been helpful, curteous and supportive in very difficult time for all involved. I would use them again for future bookings.
I had to cancel due to Covid, received a refund from the villa owner, but Clickstay decided not to refund their part which is quite shocking when you have used them in the past. I'm a frequent visitor to Florida and would have happily used them again as the service has been good, but it's the principle of holding onto a deposit during these unprecedented times that I find hard to stomach not the amount of money that I have lost. So for the sake of a few hundred pounds they will lose a lot more in the future due to the sour relationship that they have created, it really is short term thinking at the expense of long term customer retention.
Clickstay is a very nice and user friendly service. Unfortunately I canceled my booking due to COVID-19 restrictions. Clickstay made a full refund of my deposit. Thank you.
